The 2014–15 season marked a period of transition for Juventus, as they moved forward without Antonio Conte, who left to become the coach of the Italy national team. Massimiliano Allegri was appointed as the new head coach, following his successful tenure at AC Milan, where he had won the 2011 Serie A title. Allegri quickly settled in and guided Juventus to their fourth consecutive Serie A title. The Bianconeri had a strong season, securing the league title with four matches to spare, finishing 17 points ahead of second-place Roma. Juventus also enjoyed success in domestic competitions. Despite a loss to Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana on penalties after a 2–2 draw, they triumphed in the Coppa Italia, defeating Lazio 2–1 in the final to secure their tenth domestic cup title, setting a new record. In Europe, Juventus reached the final of the UEFA Champions League, but their run ended in disappointment. They were beaten 3–1 by Barcelona in the final. After going down 1–0 in the first half due to an early goal by Ivan Rakitić, Juventus responded with an equalizer from Álvaro Morata in the second half. However, Barcelona regained the lead with goals from Luis Suárez and an injury-time finish from Neymar, securing their fifth European Cup victory. Key to Juventus’s success that season was Carlos Tevez, who was the club’s top scorer, netting 20 goals in Serie A and 29 across all competitions. Other notable additions to the team included Patrice Evra, Kingsley Coman, and Álvaro Morata. Despite their domestic success, Juventus fell short in Europe, unable to claim their third European Cup.
