AC Milan’s 2022–2023 season was a year filled with ambition and challenges as the club sought to build on their previous successes and compete at the highest levels in Serie A and Europe. Managed by Stefano Pioli, the squad featured a blend of experienced players like Olivier Giroud, Theo Hernández, and Rafael Leão, along with promising young talents, creating a dynamic team capable of achieving great things. In Serie A, AC Milan finished the season in 4th place with 70 points, securing a UEFA Champions League qualification spot but falling short of the title, which was claimed by Inter Milan. The team displayed moments of brilliance and attacking flair, particularly from Leão, who emerged as a key player for the club. However, inconsistent performances and dropped points in crucial matches hindered their challenge for the Scudetto. In the UEFA Champions League, Milan had a remarkable campaign, advancing to the knockout stages after impressively finishing second in their group. They faced Tottenham Hotspur in the Round of 16, securing a 1-0 aggregate victory to reach the quarterfinals. However, their European journey came to an end against eventual champions Manchester City, where they were eliminated in a tightly contested tie. In the Coppa Italia, Milan reached the semifinals but were knocked out by Inter Milan, missing the chance to compete for domestic silverware.
